NEW OYO Europe M.D - Mark Evans

OYO Geospace EAME Limited, the wholly owned European subsidiary of OYO Instruments LP, part of the OYO Geospace Corporation Group based out of Houston, Texas (NASDAQ: OYOG), today announced a change in the company name. This reflects its shift in market emphasis and is in recognition of its growing success in the commercial graphics thermal imaging business. Under the new name, OYO Instruments, Europe Ltd. the company will now be concentrating on developing and marketing its LIBERATOR, GMAX and TECHStyler ranges of dry film ThermoImpression® Imagesetters within the Graphics Arts market, particularly targeting the Screen Print, Point of Sale, Signage and Textile market sectors.

In a related move OYO Instruments, Europe Ltd. also today appointed Mark Evans to head up its re-branded European operation. Mr. Evans was previously Sales & Marketing Director at the Pre-Press software supplier Farrukh Systems and was originally a founding partner in the development and marketing of the PhotoScript large format PostScript RIP products now owned by CADLink Corporation.

   

OYO Instruments design and manufacture a wide range of Thermal Imagesetter products under it's brand names of Liberator, GMAX and TECHStyler, all of which use OYO's ThermoImpression® imaging technology.. OYO Instruments has also manufactured similar products for a number of OEM customers including Autotype Corporation and Agfa Corporation.

Only 2 months ago OYO acquired the operating assets and business of EcoPRO Imaging Corporation and at the same time entered into a three-year global thermal film supply and distribution alliance with Labelon Corporation. Mark Evans, the new Managing Director of OYO Instruments, Europe Ltd. commented further: "With the addition of EcoPRO to the product family OYO are now clearly the market leaders in dry film thermal imaging systems. Now that we have secured our own independent source of film supply, OYO Instruments are set to take their rightful place as a premier supplier of large format Imagesetters for the Screen, Sign and Point of Sale market sectors".

OYO Instruments Europe will continue to supply its own geophysical products, as well as those from other OYO Geospace Group companies, as in the past. This will continue to be managed by Roger Caldwell, who has also been appointed as Chairman of the newly named company.
