OYO Imagesetters get Higher Resolution

OYO's GMAX Imagesetters get Higher Resolution for ScreenPrint 2001

LUTON, ENGLAND - May 8th, 2001

OYO Instruments, Europe Ltd, is showing its full line up of ThermoImpression® Imagesetters at the upcoming ScreenPrint 2001 Exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham this month. New versions of the LIBERATOR GMAX and TECHStyler dry film Imagesetters will be shown in sizes ranging from the 14" TECHStyler up to the 54" LIBERATOR GMax and top of the range XE products.

The new LIBERATOR GMAX range has improved resolution capabilities with the effective resolution being doubled to 1200x600 dpi. This allows for a wider range of Screen Print applications to be addressed as the improved resolution enables screen resolutions of up to 85 lpi or 90 lpi to be achieved with an extended range of grey levels. The LIBERATOR GMax is available in 5 sizes from 18" to 54" wide. All versions come with a Harlequin Scriptworks RIP.

OYO will also be showing the new TECHStyler 14" models for Macintosh and Windows platforms. The TECHStyler runs at resolutions of 600x600 dpi and is designed for smaller format output such as T-Shirt and other Promotional Screen Printing applications. There are several RIP solutions available for the TECHStyler, including a new more affordable Macintosh based solution using the PhotoScript RIP from CADLink Corporation as well as a higher end Harlequin ScriptWorks solution.

OYO Imagesetters range in price from £11,995 for the TECHStyler up to £72,995 for the top of the range 54" LIBERATOR XE with enhanced resolution capabilities using Optronics Speed Screening technology.

OYO Instruments design and manufacture a range of Thermal Imagesetter products, using its patented ThermoImpression head technology, for the commercial graphics industry worldwide. The Thermal head system used by OYO offers a unique approach to Film Imaging that produces high quality film separations, with near perfect registration to within 0.01%, suitable for all Screen Printing and Signage applications, directly from digital files, without any chemicals. The system is very cheap to use, being typically 10% or so of the cost of acquiring film separations from a service bureau and with none of the operator costs and waste disposal costs associated with conventional imagesetting.

In the past the OYO ThermoImpression Imagesetters have been distributed in Europe through a number of OEM customers including Autotype International, Sericol and Agfa.Corporation. ScreenPrint 2001 is being used as the platform for launching the latest updated models of OYO's Imagesetters to the U.K and Europe under OYO's own brand names of Liberator, GMAX and TECHStyler.

OYO Instruments will be exhibiting their products on Stand no. E27. ScreenPrint 2001 is at the NEC Birmingham from June 5th-8th.
